The maritime museum in Victoria is something of a hidden gem. It's often overlooked for the more well-known Royal BC Museum a few blocks away. Much of the museum capitalizes on the pirate craze that started with the Disney movie. Pirates plied the Caribbean, not the Pacific, but...hey...whatever gets people through the door.
The Museum was once a courthouse and jail and was the scene of several executions at the turn of the 20th century. Naturally, it has its share of ghosts and other 'bump in the night' things, adding to its charm and kid appeal.
